Below is a schedule of estimated times when we will be spraying in your neighborhood. Please note there are several factors that can affect the schedule shown below.
- Weather–in the form of wind, rain and temperature–can cancel spray operations. They will be rescheduled for the following night or as soon as weather permits.
- Surveillance of mosquito populations may show that an area has low populations, and therefore, is untreatable. That situation will adjust the times that certain sections are completed. This is especially a concern in the winter months when there is less rainfall and lower temperatures since treatments will not be needed as often.
- Treatments will be conducted on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday during the months March through December, unless one of the above-mentioned conditions dictates otherwise. During the months December through March, treatments will be based on surveillance or on an as-needed basis determined by citizen requests.
- Mondays and Wednesdays are scheduled surveillance days during the months of March through December. Traps will justify spray treatment for Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Fridays, a landing rate count will determine which route sections can be sprayed that night. During the months December through March, the traps are set only once per week, which results will determine if all routes are sprayed that week or only a few routes are sprayed. (“Trap counts” refer to the number and type of mosquitoes caught on various traps throughout the community. If the number and type are sufficient enough to warrant spraying for adult mosquitoes, the contractor will be out the following scheduled day to spray, weather permitting.).
